Set of 4 Ships' Mahogany Dining Chairs 19th Cent.
Blue Leather Seats Unrestored
A$1000

Purchased at auction many years ago c1970 in Colchester England. They were listed as ship's chairs. On the back rail at the top there is a white bone oval  label. On the underside of the back and front seat rails there are screw holes for the brackets to which would have been attached chains for use during rough weather. The upholstery is not original. From the underside a cane seat is clearly visible. Each chair requires restoration, which I have been intending to do for the last 30+ years, but alas it has not happened, and may not now as i am fully occupied elsewhere. The same applies to the ladderbacks I have listed on ebay. Freight on Greyhound buses will be around $250 to say Melbourne.
